The closest beach to the apartment, right next to the fishing port and more sheltered from the wind. A calm spot, especially outside peak season.
Gambôa Beach
22–23 min on foot
The city's largest beach, with wide sand and beach support facilities. A bit further, but still an easy walk — or a quick bike ride.
A short drive away
Peniche's best-known surf spots are beyond walking distance, but close enough for a quick trip.
Baleal
about 10 min by car (~5 km)
An iconic peninsula with waves for every level, a village with cafés and surf schools. A good pick for beginners or a full day out.
Supertubos
about 10–15 min by car or bus
One of Europe's most famous waves, host to WSL Challenger Series events. Powerful, heavy break — for experienced surfers, not a calm swim.
Consolação

Same area as Supertubos, but with a gentler wave — a good alternative if you're still learning.
