Morning

Municipal Market and historic centre

Start at the Municipal Market (9 min on foot from the apartment) and walk through the historic centre towards the Fortress area.

Midday

Peniche Fortress

Visit the National Museum of Resistance and Freedom, housed in the old Fortress (10 min on foot) — the city's most defining piece of history.

Afternoon

Beach

Head down to Porto de Areia Sul beach (10–11 min on foot) for a few hours by the sea, or drive to Baleal or Supertubos to watch the surf up close.

Late afternoon

Seafront and fishing harbour

End the day by the fishing harbour, with a view over the boats and, on clear days, the Berlengas in the distance.
